The Yaryura family has a strong passion for travel and compassion to help others. Through this passion the Yaryura family has met wonderful individuals who are making a difference in their own communities. As a result of these meaningful encounters, we began to question: “How can we change the lives of those that have changed ours?” The Yaryura family has successfully funded educational endeavors, paid for emergency surgeries and purchased livestock to help develop community farms. Project StrongHer Uganda

Our First Project

"Never under estimate the power of helping one person." - Deborah Yaryura

Yaryura & Friends' first project is Project StrongHer based in Bwindi, Uganda. On a 2016 visit, we met Loy Twongyeirwe and stayed in contact with her through the years. We provided financial support for Loy to attain her master’s degree. In 2023, we reunited with Loy in Uganda and launched StrongHer Uganda to help young, single mothers attain a path towards a successful and fulfilling life. Our first initiatives will ensure the mothers have access to food and shelter. As these necessities are met, our focus will transition to fostering education and financial sustainability for long-term empowerment.

About The Project

Ensuring independence for young single mothers and their children.

We empower young single mothers in Uganda by providing them and their children with essential skills training and critical services, enabling them to move forward independently. Our workshop offers vocational training in farming, sewing, and weaving, giving these mothers sustainable income opportunities. We also run a store where they sell their handmade crafts to tourists, helping them achieve financial independence. Beyond skills training, we offer access to education, health insurance, nutrition, and counseling, ensuring holistic support for these families. Your donations are vital to our mission of constructing a workshop and farm, further enhancing our capacity to provide these life-changing services. With your generosity, we can bring security and stability to five women and their ten children as they work toward brighter futures.
