A New Beginning with Purpose
We're thrilled to share some exciting news! In March, our family founded a nonprofit organization called Yaryura & Friends. Over the years, we've been fortunate to meet incredible people on our travels—people who, through no fault of their own, struggle to access education, nutritious food, and healthcare.

Project StrongHer
Our first major initiative is Project StrongHer, which focuses on helping Loy, a woman we met ten years ago in Bwindi, Uganda. She works with single mothers and their children to build a sustainable future. During our visit in August, we identified their key needs: education, skills training, food security, and healthcare.
How We're Making A Difference
Sponsoring Education
Most of the women have a 4th-grade education, so we've provided laptops and set up online learning. We're also covering school fees for their children to ensure they don't fall behind.
Skills
We've built a workshop where the women are learning sewing and basket weaving, and have also started a chicken and vegetable farm.
Employment
Each woman will receive a small salary, meals, and healthcare as they work towards financial independence. Our goal is for the project to be self-sustaining within 5-7 years.
The best part? Every dollar donated goes directly to helping these women and children. We work as volunteers and cover our own travel expenses. Yaryura & Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donations are tax-deductible.
