Progress in Bwindi

We're excited to share an update from our trip to Bwindi, Uganda this past August! Thanks to your incredible generosity, we've made huge strides, and we couldn't have done it without you.

The Workshop is Built!

Workshop in Uganda

Our new workshop is located in a beautiful valley just off the main highway. While there's still work to be done inside, the space is now usable for the young women in our program to start working. Exciting news: electricity is being installed next week!

A Dedication to You

Workshop in Uganda

We've dedicated this building to our amazing donors and placed a plaque in your honor on the wall. We hope you'll visit one day, meet Loy, the women, and children, and see your name up there!

Sponsoring Education

Sponsor Education

We visited Bwindi Community School to tour the campus and finalize tuition costs for the 10 children in our program. Your generosity allows us to sponsor their education – an amazing opportunity for these young minds! Want to help us further?

Our Path to Financial Independence

We worked closely with Loy to develop a business plan focused on financial independence for the women. We'll provide meals, education, healthcare, and income as they begin contributing to our revenue-building initiatives.

Launching 3 Revenue Initiatives

1: Sustainable Farming

Sustainable Farm Chickens

We're raising 50 free range chickens and plan to scale up to 200 as we refine the business model. Connor will be back in Uganda from September 13–21 to help implement this first phase of the farm.

2: Workshop Production

Sustainable Farm Chickens

The women have started handcrafting high-quality baskets, placemats, napkins, and coasters for tourists. We're also working to secure contracts with local businesses and hotels.

3: Tourist Experiences

Cooking Experience

Loy and the women will offer authentic local cooking experiences to tourists. The food is delicious, and the women's skills are impressive—everything from chopping wood for the fire to handling extremely hot pots with no oven mitts! It's a must-try experience.
